Corporate & Business
Amitabh Bhatnagar, known amongst clients and friends as “AB”, is a Chartered Accountant.
AB’s clients range from small , single shareholder businesses to large corporations with over $10 million in annual sales.
Whether large or small, AB believes each client is entitled to deal with
a professional accountant and not be relegated to lower level staff members. He believes in providing high quality professional services
at a competitive price that adds value to his clients.
AB helps his clients achieve their objectives by developing strategies and formulating solutions to prevent tax problems before they happen. He takes a preventative approach to the business instead of a reactionary one to ensure that his clients stay out of trouble with the Canada Revenue Agency. His team includes independent accounting technicians, bookkeepers as well as tax and HST specialists who are brought in to consult on more complex income tax and HST issues.
After graduating from Western University with a Bachelor of Economics, AB dabbled in the restaurant business with a few friends from Western. He quickly learned from long hours and back breaking work that the restaurant industry was not for him. AB attended Wilfrid Laurier University to pursue his education in accounting, taxation and auditing. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1991 while training in the audit and tax practice of Ernst & Young in Toronto.
Since being self-employed was always his passion, AB decided to start his own practice in 1995. He simultaneously taught accounting and taxation at the community college level in Toronto. AB takes pride in the long-term relationships he has developed with his clients. Those who have put their trust in his services are aware of his integrity, professionalism and commitment to clients.
With his pragmatic approach to business and his ability to simplify the complex, AB takes great pride in the fact that through his forward thinking, conservative approach to his services, he keeps clients out of trouble with CRA and helps them find piece of mind.
AB is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants Canada , the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He is committed to maintaining and upgrading his skills in the areas of taxation and accounting and spends upwards of 40 hours a year in professional development courses.
He has served on the boards of various local non profits and charities. He is a generous supporter of children’s charities and volunteers with Junior Achievement. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, curling and cycling. For 2017, he is most excited about participating in a Habitat for Humanity build in New Delhi, India this coming December.
